Erica Dunmow has been appointed as 'Urban Mission Development Advisor' based in Sheffield. She will be responsible to the Co-ordinating Secretary for Unity in Mission of the Methodist Church (Rev. Peter Sulston). The post has been supported by the Ecumenical Urban Officers Group and the Evangelical Coalition for Urban Mission as well as the Methodist Church. The post is to 'encourage good practice in all facets of urban mission through developing and strengthening networks, theological reflection, ecumenical working and further training. Also to develop Christian partnership, collaboration and endeavour in urban mission and ministry, and explore with others appropriate cooperation between people of faith and statutory and voluntary agencies for the welfare of our cities.' The appointment is for 3 years from 1st September 2004. We wish Erica well in all her work.
